Hail Damage
Hail can damage and compromise the integrity of a roof. This will depend on the size of the hail and pitch of the roof. Upon inspection there will be visible holes on the top layer of shingles.
Wind Damage
Strong winds can lift and tear shingles. Missing shingles will expose the plywood underneath. This will eventually lead to wood rot and mold. During a roof replacement its not uncommon to replace a few sheets of plywood.
Tree Damage
Trees should never be with in falling distance of a house. The shade from the tree also creates environments where moss will start growing under the shingles. Both scenarios are not good for your roofs integrity.
